Our history is unique to Bergen County NJ!

We Grew to Accommodate the Demand for Dance Classes

Founded in 1990 by Mr. Rocco Santorufo, Broadway Bound Dance Center is celebrating more than 25 years in the instruction of the performing arts and history in Northern New Jersey. BBDC began with a clear vision and a great deal of passion. With just a boom box and a pair of tap shoes, Mr. Rocco found space at the Dumont Elks Club. As his student base grew and the demand for dance classes in the Bergen County area grew larger, class instruction was moved to a small storefront on Madison Avenue in Dumont.

The school’s reputation blossomed, the demand for dance lessons continued to rise and expansion of Broadway Bound Dance Center was soon necessary. Mr. Rocco moved to a 2,500 square foot facility. As enrollment and the need for quality dance instructors grew, many professionals were recruited from the top of their performing arts fields in New York City.

Even More Dance Classes! And A Second Location!

After several years, a second Dumont location was added to accommodate the need for NJ dance classes. This allowed expansion of the school’s curriculum and it could now offer instruction in more areas of the Performing Arts to our students. Classes for all our age groups—toddlers, children, kids, adolescents and adults—grew to accommodate a variety of levels, interests and schedules.

Community Outreach and Special Abilities

Through the years, Mr. Rocco continually reached out to the community as his efforts became focused on children with special abilities. BBDC’s Special Needs Program now brings the joy of dance to children who otherwise may not have had this creative opportunity. Broadway Bound Dance Center continues to grow and nurture the community, and strives to bring the best dance instruction to our students.

Building a Dream!

In 2009, Mr. Rocco realized a lifelong dream as he built a performing arts school to his design specifications that were created from his vast knowledge and experience in his field. Our 6,500 sq. ft. facility offers a diverse curriculum and convenient schedules and provides modern studio features that enhance the quality of its dance instruction. Broadway Bound Dance Center never rests on its accomplishments, but continually strives to improve its programs so that its students will always get the best dance education offered in the Bergen County area.
